Which country will be gone in less than 50 years?
Will countries in Asia disappear in less than 50 years due to heat?
Last summer, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States put the region on a “worry list” based on scientifically recorded heat peaks. The findings were clear. Due to extreme heat, these countries will be depopulated in about 50 years.
Which countries made the list? Unfortunately, it’s mostly Asian countries.
The list categorized northern China, Bangladesh, Pakistan, parts of India, and some countries in South Asia as uninhabitable. The same goes for the emirates of the Arabian Peninsula, a perpetual fiery furnace.
As for European countries, they may still be ‘livable’, but some climatologists are predicting an increase in heat waves in the latitudes where France is located, which will put it in a permanent heat wave during the summer. In addition, they believe there will be more rain in the winter.
In addition, many species of plants and animals are likely to disappear, and certain coastal areas will be progressively flooded, experts predict.
We’re depopulating! Is Asia a climate refugee?
According to the UNICEF survey, 43 million children have been displaced by extreme weather in the past five years alone. An earlier MIT study raises the possibility of a large number of climate refugees in Asia within the next 50 years.
The study only recorded people leaving because the land became uninhabitable due to heat waves. In the future, however, there will be many more who will be displaced by rising sea levels and eventually forced to flee the country.
This is especially true in Japan.
The Japanese government is currently building a high seawall in Tokyo to protect its territory from erosion due to rising sea levels, but eventually, many Japanese people will have no choice but to come to South Korea if Japan is submerged. The Asian countries on the list above are also likely to head to the Korean Peninsula.
South Korea’s future is on the brink of a population cliff, and Asia’s demographic map is about to change due to climate change. There is a strong need to check this in advance and create a response scenario in case of a large-scale climate refugee outbreak.
